Experimental 6 String Cut-Away ‘Ukulele

I call this ‘ukulele experimental because I had never built a six string nor had I built a cut-away. I also used four different woods: curly Maple for the sides and neck, Redwood for the soundboard, curly Madrone for the back, and Aromata for the fingerboard. This one was also braced like a guitar.

Curly Maple ‘Ukulele for Chris and Anna

I built this as a gift for Chris and Anna using curly Maple for the back, sides, soundboard, neck and Santos Rosewood for the fingerboard, nut and saddle.
This ‘ukulele is particularly special because it was french polished using the highest quality super blonde shellac flakes.

Koa ‘Ukulele for Stefani Gee

Stefani Gee just needed have a Koa ‘ukulele, so I built this for her as a gift. She spent years on Kaua’i, so I used Koa from Kaua’i with a couple purple heart accents.

Koa ‘Ukuklele for Dickie Kicza

Dickie Kicza a good friend and owner of Kicza Lumber. I built this for him as a trade for materials to build a shed/barn. This Koa ‘ukulele reminds him of the good times he spent in
Hawaii.

Curly Koa ‘Ukulele Built with Jeffery S.

While living on Kaua’i I built these sister curly Koa ‘ukulele with Jeffery S., who taught me as an apprentice. The Tenor and Concert ‘ukulele were built with Koa from the same log and milled to specifications on site.
